If you like offense, last night was the night for you to plant yourself on the couch and consume only NBA basketball. I’m not sure what got into everyone, but it seems like a lot of the league’s top players got in some group chat, and all decided to light up the scoreboard at the same time.

It all started with Nikola Jokic who had quite the night against the Kings. The Joker droped 50 points (a career high,) along with 12 assists, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. All of that, however, came in  a losing  effort despite him shooing 62% from the field, and 50% from deep.

Steph Curry must have seen this scoring outburst from Jokic and said to himself “not on my watch.” I didn’t get to see this game live, but I saw on Twitter that Curry had 30 points… at halftime. After that, I knew that he was going to go off. Curry ended the night with 57 points (!!) and 5 assists, shooting 61% from the field, and knocking down 11 (!!!!) three pointers. Unfortunately, Curry and the Warriors met the same fate as the Jokic and the Nuggets and suffered a loss.

Let’s talk about some winners, what do you say? Zach LaVine proved once again that he’s worthy of an All-Star selection this year but continuing to be a walking bucket. 39 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, all while shooting 64% from the field, and having a staggering 83% from down-town.

Luka Doncic and the Mavericks got back into the win column against the Warriors, and The Kid came to play. Doncic completely controlled the Mavs’ offense, and stuffed the stat sheet. 42 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds. Doncic tied his career-high in points while shooting 52% from the field and 58% from deep. Maybe this is the game that starts the Mavericks’ engine, so to speak, and we’ll see a winning streak begin in Dallas.

What would a good statistical performance night be without The King? LeBron James and the Lakers took on the Detroit Pistons for the second time this season, and for whatever reason, the Pistons become the “Bad Boy” Pistons every time they play the Lakers. This game went into two overtimes, so the King had to deliver, and he did just that. 33 points and 11 assists, shooting 50% from the field, not to mention two dagger three’s to ice the game. LeBron was able to do it all last night to help the Lakers win.

There were other great stat lines across the league last night as well. SGA went off for 31 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists continuing to prove that he’s next up for being one of the best point guards of the future. Draymond Green had 2 points in the loss against the Mavericks. Not really that exciting, but what he did do was make up for his lack of offense everywhere else on the floor. 15 assists, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 blocks. The last player who could stuff a stat sheet like Green could was Andrei Kirlenko. Not to mention Zion Williamson being consistent as consistent can get in his young age with 29 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds.

We were truly blessed to get such good basketball last night. This season we’ve seen ridiculous statline from almost everyone in the league, and I think that just goes to show how good these players are, and will continue to be.
